The Role of Counselling

Assisting Managers

Modern organisations are finely tuned, fast paced affairs and people put in long hours to get their job done.

The Manager's task is to deliver, in alignment with other managers, consistent and continuous performance, and:
to resolve any disruptions quickly; and
to respond to unexpected contingencies; and
to get on with the job

We know – that between 4%-12% of your people will seek workplace counselling each year seeking resolve for a variety of personal and workplace issues.

We know – that at any given time, up to 25% or more may have similar problems during periods of substantial and prolonged change in your business, or when you adjust your core process, or the continuity or ownership of your business is threatened.

We know – that workplace counselling contributes to reduced levels of sickness and absenteeism by 25-50% for those counselled and to a smaller but significant effect on levels of job commitment, work functioning, job satisfaction and substance abuse.

There are many factors to manage. You need, at all times, the right number, fit and capability of people on the job, working continuously at a measured pace and time and in the right manner, in collaborative relationships which are committed to a common direction and which evince a clear and positive sense of values and fulfilment, and which together yield the right quantity and quality of value and production for achieving client outcomes.
